I'm back!

Ok, let's talk. I finally have the opportunity to post something new! So what's been going on with me, you ask? After 6 months of being a stay at home Mom, I returned to work. I actually feel pretty good about it too. I finally have reason to get gussied up almost every day instead of letting my wardrobe collect dust. I'm excited!

So today is a lazy day. I forgot that I bought some things from H&M that I haven't worn yet. Today was the perfect day.

Can't go wrong with a little 80's/90's. I bought this whole outfit at H&M for less than 20 bucks.
As for the hairstyle, I attempted this style created by Berlin Hair Baby. My hair was a little wet when I did it. Hers looks a lot better! Heart her!

A day like this calls for swinging on trees!

Happy Rapture Day!

The Legendary Jane Fonda Hairstyle How-To

Jane Fonda is one of my favorite foxy ladies from the 60's. I loved her character Corie Bratter in the film Barefoot in the Park featuring Robert Redford.

She's so cute!!!

This dress is perfect!

80's Inspired Outfit With A French Twist

Gotta love the 80's.

I threw this together today.

I really love these stone washed jeans from Forever 21. I call them my AC Slater jeans.

You lift that heavy stool AC!

Oversized sweaters were pretty big in the 80's. Although this sweater isn't "oversized" I still adore it anyway. And you can get it at Target on their clearance rack.

These kitten heels scream 1980's. I got these at a thrift store for $4!

I'm so happy my husband works for the paper and is able to bring home the New York Times Fashion section!

Jill Sander collection on the Catwalk. I love this models hairstyle. Deep comb over french twist!

The back is so elegant!

My attempt!

I was happy with the outcome. It was super easy too. This style is very convenient when you have wet hair and don't feel like blow drying!

The Peacock: A Fashion Trend

Hi everyone.

I have always adored the peacock. I remember going over to my cousins farm when I was little and seeing their peacock. My brothers and I would try to piss it off so it would spread it's colorful feathers.

I love Peacock inspired fashion too!

Peacock feather headband is a must have! I need to get one of these!

You can find this Peacock feather ruffled top at Forever 21

Love this!

You can also pick these up at Forever 21 for 7 bucks

My Peacock inspired look

I styled my hair in a high "pomp" in the front, which reminded me of the feathers on the peacocks head

This look would be fun if you're going out on the town! I personally would wear this to the office!

I bought these Peacock earrings at Forever 21 about 2 years ago. One of my favorite pair of earrings!

As for my make up, I blended two shades of blue eyeshadow, one light (all over crease and lid) , and one dark (outer corner of the crease). Then softened the blues with a white frosted shadow.

Last, I painted my nails with Milani's "Bolting Blue" which I bought at the drug store for 2 bucks

Here's to you, Mr. Peacock.

Black Swan vs White Swan Part 2

As I have mentioned before, I LOVE the movie Black Swan. I watched it again for the 3rd time the other night! The costumes, hair, and make-up are amazing!

So, like an obsessed fan I am of this movie, I wanted to have some kind of Black Swan attire.

My inspiration: Juicy Couture "Bird" top

I bought a black feather boa at SAS fabrics for about 2 bucks.

I used a black tee I had laying around, but this one is $5.50 at Forever 21

I simply hot glued the feather boa on the sleeves........... So what about the White Swan?

This little girl makes the PERFECT White Swan

I made this little tu-tu onesie and matching headband for the prima ballerina

It wasn't too long before she started pulling out her feathers, then mine!

Oh, how I envy you, White Swan.

DIY Betsey Johnson Inspired Earrings

I'm a huge fan of Betsey Johnson! Who isn't!? Unfortunately, her designs are a little out of my budget! I must have been a good girl  last year because Santa was kind enough to get me some BJ earrings that I had asked for for Christmas! They are extra special because whenever I put them on, I think of my darling husband.
I love them! Thanks again Gabe! I mean Santa!

Today, I thought I would throw together a pair of my own Betsey Johnson inspired earrings that cost a WHOLE lot less than what they actually sell for.

I purchased my materials from SAS fabric store, minus the earrings and pliers.

I attached two small strands of the gold chain to the black hoop earring and then connected the black bow to the other end of the chain on both sides of the bow.

WAA-LAA!!! See how they sparkle!

The finished product. I really enjoyed making these. It seriously took me about 5 minutes and less than 5 bucks to make.

Hope I inspired you to get crafty! Thanks for reading!

It's ALIVE!!! BCBG Heels Re-Vamp Plus Tutorial!

Hi! Today was a busy day! I dug out a pair of BCBG heels that had bad scuffs. I've only worn these about a handfull of times. I was about to donate them to Goodwill untill I got the idea that I could "repair" them myself.

Poor shoes. :(

Nothing a little spray paint can't fix!

Yay!!! Now I just have to figure out how to get the paint off the spots I didn't mean to paint! Dang-it!

Hot Date Night and Cat-Eye Eyeliner Tutorial!

So, I got some requests about how I do my eyeliner and how I did my hair/make-up when my husband and I went out on a date a while ago.

Hot Date Night circa 2009

WARNING! This is my first video tutorial. I appolgize for the crappy quality. A new video camera is in the works! (I think?)

Thanks for watching!

Safari Jane

I appologize for my lack of posting new and exciting things! My husband and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary on February 6th. We enjoyed a relaxing get-away in San Diego which was much needed. What else... for Valentines Day, my parents were gracious enough to take the kiddo for a few days so that Gabe and I could have Valentines Day alone together. We went to my favorite Jamaican restaurant, The Breadfruit. Yummies.

So today, we went to the Phoenix Zoo! Here's what I wore which I thought was appropriate for our afternoon excursion.

Something I had hanging in the closet for forever.

Blouse: Forever 21
Leopard Print Belt: Can't remember
Vintage Ivory(?) Necklace: Buffalo Exchange

I really wish I bought a Safari hat from the gift shop and had a machete
